2022 Ministerium Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting is the highest governing body of the ECC Ministerium and votes each year on the budget, national officers, motions and resolutions, and oversees other business impacting Covenant Ministers. We also welcome to the Ministerium new members, transfers, candidates for credentialing, and move on all matters related to care and discipline of Ministers during our Business Session. As part of our Ministerium Annual Meeting we will be honoring and celebrating Women in Leadership through conferring the annual WIL Awards. For more information please visit: https://www.eccclergy.org/womeninleadership



This will be our first ever “hybrid” meeting. That means you can attend either in-person in Kansas City or online. We are viewing this year somewhat as an experiment from a technological and logistical perspective. We are hopeful that things will run smoothly as offering an online option reduces costs for members of the Ministerium to attend and increases access to those for whom cost has been a barrier in the past. Our desire is to increase access and remove barriers so that our meetings are more inclusive.

Good Standing and Voting Online​

The deadline for Ministers to update all elements of their Good Standing by June 3rd . This includes paying dues to your Conference Ministerial Association, online or in person, so that conferences can send information by the deadline for the denomination this year. This also includes making sure your Vocational Growth Tool is completed for this year, and that your CovConnect Profile has been updated within the last three years. If you are not up to date on Good Standing you may not attend or vote at the 2022 Ministerium Annual Meeting. 

There will be portions of the Annual Meeting that are open for public viewing, worship and participation. The majority of the business however, including content that involve votes and discussion, are only open to Active and Retired Ministerium Members who are in Good Standing. Those who are Inactive, not in Good Standing, or guests who are not Ministerium members are not able to attend the Annual Meeting without prior approval from the Ministerium Executive Board. 

Continuing Education
This year we are decoupling Continuing Education from the Ministerium Annual Meeting. We plan to hold Continuing Education in a webinar format in the Fall. We will share more information on that topic in the future.

 

Technology
All who attend (both online and in-person) will cast votes in the same manner, which is through the online meeting platform. That means that everyone who attends in-person will be responsible to bring with them an internet connected device with a web-browser (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.). It is through our personal devices that we will cast votes. While many internet browsers are supported we have been informed that those using Safari as a browser occasionally experience issues. For those who will be using iOS or MacOS devices we highly recommend downloading and installing a different browser on your device beforehand (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

Everyone who attends the meeting (either in-person or online) will be responsible for their own technology and connection (the hotel will have wifi). For those attending in-person we recommend taking your device’s battery life into consideration as you plan. You may need to bring a form of battery backup with you.

If you register to attend in-person you will need to be physically present in the meeting room, you will not be able to switch your method of attendance once registration closes. We will be checking people in physically when they arrive in the morning.
