NEXT STEPS

Thank you for attending the ReImagine Online Leadership Event!  Whether you joined us live or have enjoyed our content afterward, we are so grateful for your presence and participation.  Altogether we had over 370 participants join us for the Ongoing Education Training with Dr. Christina Edmondson and Rev. Dominique Gilliard, and around 200 live viewers for our Leadership updates and speakers now generating over 1,600 views

Many of you also indicated finding connection and further resourcing in our 20+ Breakout Groups.  We celebrated some phenomenal leaders for our 1st Annual Women Leadership Awards- recognizing Rev. Cecelia Williams, Rev. Juana Nesta, and Rev. Gail Song Bantum who received the SheLeads, SheAdvocates, and ShePreaches awards respectively .  We were led powerfully in worship by Pastor Brandi Sanders.  We celebrated our out going Ministerium Executive Board Secretary Rev. Beth Ernest, and welcomed our new Executive Board Secretary, Rev. Laurie Danielson Cornell.  We presented a budget update (access here), and we heard from over a dozen ReImagine video offerings from leaders from around North America.  In the end, we can truly thank God for bringing this event to life through the efforts of so many gifted and faithful contributors.

As we continue to reflect on our learnings and experiences from this past week, we wanted to draw your attention to few concrete next steps to continue the reimagining work that has already begun.

  1. COMPLETE THE REIMAGINE EVENT EVALUATION FORM:  If you have not already done so, please take a minute to complete our Evaluation form.  Your feedback is very important to us,in both debriefing this event and planning for future ones.  https://forms.gle/gMeSiwcvebCXZWzy5

  2. SIGN UP FOR AN ANTI-RACIST LEARNING PATHWAY:   This 12-month pathway of books, films/videos, and articles has been curated to facilitate growth and deepen your convictions and commitment to anti-racism. This purposeful narrative pathway aligns with the ethos of this 5th “P” of The Six-fold Test for Multiethnic Ministry. This pathway is organized thematically and in conjunction with racial/ethnic heritage months. These pathways are a great way to demonstrate that we are all in this together. These pathways are designed for clergy to find a group of peers in their conference to intentionally work through this material together as peers who will encourage, hold one another accountable, and serve as processing partners over the next year. There are two pathways, one for white clergy, and one clergy of color. Enrolling in a pathway is one specific way to live out a commitment to the 2019 Anti-Racism Resolution, passed at the Ministerium AM in Omaha.  For those interested in a Pathway, registration closes on July 29th.  If you register, you will hear from your Anti-racist Conference Committee, who will be stewarding this learning opportunity, by August 3rd. https://forms.gle/Pj6JkhAHFa3QYtPA6

  3. ACCESS REIMAGINE EVENT RECORDINGS:  For those of you who were unable to join on 7/17, or for those who would like to re-view the Event, we will have select portions of the event (including Speakers, and a copy of our Livestream Recording) available  below.

For those interested in revisiting the Ongoing Education module with Dr. Christina Edmondson, please register to join an Anti-Racism pathway and check the box on the registration form indicating an interest in viewing the Ongoing Education module.  Each Conference's Anti-racism conference committee will organize two additional conference-specific screenings over the next 6 months, and will be in contact with you to share scheduling details.  Alternatively, if you have difficulty registering or have any other questions please contact Rev. Dominique Gilliard at: Dominique.Gilliard@covchurch.org
